MARIE - Technician - attended the PCC Veterinary Technician program in 1989 and has been licensed for 19 years and has been at Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital for 11 of them. Her Interests include trail riding and camping with her 22 year old Paint mare Dixie and three year old Australian Cattle Dog Bella Blue. Time away from her job is spent at the beach, fishing, golfing, gardening, skiing, playing frisbee with Bella and she is an aquarium enthusiast. She is also owned by and a 19 year old paint gelding who is retired due to an illness. She has adopted a young Cattle Dog named Foster. Congrats on her recent marriage to Mark!
Dolores - Technician was one of Dr. Haveman’s students years ago and worked full time at Sunnyside for over three years. She left to become the head technician and educator at Portland Community College’s Veterinary Technology Program. She assists Dr. Haveman in teaching Veterinary Parasitology and works part time at Sunnyside, mainly on weekends.
Dolores has worked in the veterinary profession since 1980. Small and mixed animal hospitals, a surgical specialty hospital, an avian practice, and an emergency and critical care hospital have made up 13 of the 29 years. The last 16 years have been at PCC Veterinary Technology Program.
Dolores’ passions in Veterinary Medicine include animal nursing, surgery, laboratory, and diagnostics. She has a special affinity towards canine behavior rehabilitation. Also she loves to work with animals helping people like therapy animals.
Dolores was born in Lemon Grove, California (San Diego County) and has 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
Singing, writing songs, playing piano and guitar are other passions. As well as, gardening, keeping house, cooking and riding with her husband on the back of his motorcycle.
LAUREN - Technician - Graduated from the Portland Community College Veterinary Technician program and passed the Oregon/National Veterinary Technician Board Exam in June 2008. Lauren externed at SVH in the Fall of 2007. She grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon and enjoys watching sports, making beer, and long walks on the beach.
Her special interests in Veterinary Medicine include Dentistry, surgical nursing, phlebotomy, and feline nursing.
Lauren was recently married to Loren.
