SVH Updates & Weather Advisory Precautions
Most of our Practitioners here at Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital are willing to perform exams, as well as certain treatments, in the room and with clients present. However, certain exceptions and accommodations do need to be made for the safety and well-being of our clients, staff, and our patients. We ask that you be patient, understanding, as well as trust and respect that our staff will make what we believe is the best decision for everyone involved, particularly your furry family member! If you have special requests, (i.e. - you prefer to be seen by a specific provider, etc.) please make these requests to our Customer Service Representatives when you schedule your appointment.
While masks are no longer required while in the building, we are entering the fall and winter seasons, which means there will be an uptick in certain viral processes such as the common cold and an array of flu viruses. We do ask that you still try to respect the opinions of others, including other clients as well as our staff if they choose to wear one. If your personal preference, or you have underlying health concerns that heighten your risk of certain viral disease and elect to wear a mask or would like to request that our staff does so during their interactions with you and your pet, please mention this to our Customer Service team when you book your appointment and we would be happy to accommodate.
As we come into the colder seasons, our area is subject to inclement weather. Your safety, the safety of your pets, and the safety of our staff is our top priority! If the region is experiencing inclement weather we ask that you try to call the clinic at (503) 658-8165 prior to proceeding to your appointment to ensure you receive up to date information regarding our operating hours and closures. We do our best to update our automated phone message in the even of a closure. In the event we are closed due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to contact you.
Rabies Licensing: (Effective Fall 2025) - If you reside within the city limits of Happy Valley itself (97086 zip code) you are now required to license your pet with the City of Happy Valley. This applies to our canine patients only. The following situations apply:
* If your pet is already currently licensed with Clackamas County, you will still need to pursue licensure through the City of Happy Valley itself. If you maintain HV residency in subsequent years after they receive an update Rabies vaccine, they will only need to be licensed with the city, not the county.
* If your pet receives a Rabies vaccine on of after November 1st, 2025 then you are only required to license through the City of Happy Valley
* If you relocate to Happy Valley from somewhere else within Clackamas County, and your pet is currently licensed within the County, you will still need to license them in Happy Valley. However, the City will waive any associated fees.
Brochures that contain a QR code linked to the City application and fee schedule are available at our front desk. Please speak with a member of our Customer Service or Administrative team if you need further assistance.
We will continue to do our best to keep the website updated with current information or changes. However, should you have any questions or concerns that you can not find an answer to here, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team at (503) 658-8165.
